Yankees finally return to playoffs, rewarding long-suffering fans

ANAHEIM, CA - SEPTEMBER 22: Brett Gardner #11 of the New York Yankees receives a high five from Hideki Matsui #55 after scoring the go ahead run in the ninth inning against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at Angel Stadium on September 22, 2009 in Anaheim, California. Congratulations to our Pinstriped Princes for returning to the playoffs.

Traditional story lines sure to rear their cliched heads here and elsewhere in the next month:

Frustrated fans complain about lack of access to and/or fair prices for tickets.

Frustrated fans complain that national announcers are biased against said fans' favorite teams.

Frustrated fans complain about four-hour Yankees games dragging well past midnight on East Coast on school/work nights.

I'm looking forward to it. Seriously! Sort of.

That's it for now.

Enjoy "Raucous Rangers" at 10 p.m. on MSG Vault.
