Would-be thief flees empty-handed after failed robbery attempt in Manhattan

The NYPD is looking for a would-be thief who tried to rob a man in Manhattan earlier this month.

According to police, at 1:45 p.m. on Oct. 6 a 33-year-old man was in front of 330 West 39th Street when he was approached by an unknown man who asked him for directions. As the 33-year-old walked away, the suspect told him that he had a firearm and demanded cash.

The victim did not comply and the suspect ultimately fled the scene empty-handed.
