Lobster rolls at Luke's Lobster
According to Congress, National Lobster Day falls on Sept. 25, the peak of Maine lobster season. But the internet, which abides by rules of its own, celebrates "National" Lobster Day on June 15, at the height of the Canadian lobster season. That's why Luke's Lobster says it's re-branding June 15 as "Canadian" Lobster Day and giving away free lobster rolls to the first 15 people to show up at each location wearing a "Canadian tuxedo." (For the uninitiated, that is the pairing of a denim jacket and jeans, a trend StyleCaster calls one of the Great White North's "greatest gift to the universe.") Find your nearest Luke's here.
Iced coffee floats, yogurt smoothies and more at Blue Apron NYC (12 W. 23rd St.)
The meal-kit delivery service has set up a month-long pop-up shop hosting cooking classes, demonstrations, discussions and tastings. Every week features a different theme (think "party vibes," "fam jam" and "besties & baes") and a different food giveaway. This week, it's bone broth. Find the full schedule here.
Egg creams (for dads) at the Taste of Jewish Culture street festival (Sixth Avenue between 48th and 49th streets)
The annual festival organized by progressive Jewish nonprofit The Workmen's Circle returns on Father's Day, falling this year on Sunday, June 17. Take Dad for bites from Danny Macaroons, Ben's Kosher Deli, Nachos Libre and other vendors representing the city's diversity, but make sure he saves room for a free egg cream, that fizzy, sweet drink that actually contains no egg or cream.
Ice cream bars at Magnum (132 Spring St., SoHo)
Dip into some red, yellow, green and blue pride at Magnum's pop-up dipping bar. A limited-edition Pride Magnum ice cream, designed in collaboration with GLAAD, will be available for purchase ($8) June 18 through June 24. But, if you'd prefer to take a bite for charity, the bars will be free on June 20. You'll have the option of making a donation to the LGBTQ rights organization instead.
