It’s been four years since we’ve last seen the “Arrested Development” clan, but for the Bluth family, some things never change.
The cast has been slowly revealing photos and new-season clues on social media, proving your favorite dysfunctional family is back together again.
Netflix officially confirmed the return of “Arrested Development” in May. The Emmy-winning comedy’s fourth season, which aired on Netflix in 2013 and focused around the fictional Newport Beach holiday Cinco de Cuatro, was expected to be its last.
Nevertheless, the Bluths persisted and production began last month making way for the series to return sometime next year. Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed a date.
The first new-season hint-dropper was stand-in patriarch Michael Bluth — err, Jason Bateman — who shared a photo of the family condo in July, writing that the Bluths would “move back in” on Aug. 8. Though only half unpacked, the living room set where much of the family’s dramatic moments unfolded seems unchanged. Photos of Lindsay and her siblings still sit atop the piano.
“Always fun to break up the commute with seeing the Bluths out on the town,” Garcia tweeted. Will Arnett, who hasn’t yet shared any photos from production, retweeted the video.
Still no sight of Michael Cera (George Michael), Jeffrey Tambor (George Bluth Sr.), Portia de Rossi (Lindsay Fünke), David Cross (Tobias Fünke) or Alia Shawkat (Maeby Fünke) on the set yet, but Netflix confirmed they’ve signed on for the fifth season.
