MTA weekend service changes: What to know before riding the subway

Here's a look at the service changes from Friday night to Monday morning.

No. 1 trains

Normal weekend service.

No. 2 trains

Service between Franklin and Flatbush avenues in Brooklyn will be replaced by free shuttle buses.

Trains in Manhattan will run local in both directions between 72nd and 14th streets.

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

No. 3 trains

Trains in Manhattan will run local in both directions between 72nd and 14th streets.

Service between 148th Street and Times Square-42nd Street in Manhattan will be replaced by No. 2 trains and free shuttle buses (late nights).

No. 4 trains

Downtown trains in Manhattan will run local from 125th Street to Grand Central-42nd Street and skip 33rd, 28th and 23rd streets.

Manhattan-bound trains in the Bronx will skip 176th Street, Mt. Eden Avenue, 170th, 167th and 161st streets (3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday).

Trains will run every 16 minutes between 125th Street in Manhattan and Woodlawn in the Bronx (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday).

No. 5 trains

Bowling Green-bound trains in Manhattan will run local from 125th Street to Grand Central-42nd Street.

Trains will run every 20 minutes (days and evenings).

No. 6 trains

Brooklyn Bridge-bound trains in Manhattan will skip 33rd, 28th and 23rd streets.

No. 7 trains

No trains between Queensboro Plaza in Queens and 34th Street-Hudson Yards in Manhattan. Service will be replaced by E, F, N, R, W and S trains and free shuttle buses.

A trains

Inwood-bound trains will run along the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn to West Fourth Street in Manhattan.

Inwood-bound trains in Manhattan will make local stops at 23rd and 50th streets.

Trains will run every 10 minutes between 207th Street and Rockaway Boulevard (Saturday).

C trains

168th Street-bound trains will run along the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech in Brooklyn to West Fourth Street in Manhattan.

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

E trains

Service between Briarwood and Jamaica Center in Queens will be replaced by free shuttle buses.

World Trade Center-bound trains in Queens will run local from 71st Avenue-Forest Hills to Roosevelt Avenue (5:45 to 7 a.m. Saturday and 5:15 to 8 a.m. Sunday).

B trains

The B does not run on weekends.

D trains

Normal weekend service.

F trains

Coney Island-bound trains will run along the E line from Roosevelt Avenue in Queens to Fifth Avenue/53rd Street in Manhattan.

Coney Island-bound trains in Manhattan will skip 23rd and 14th streets.

Coney Island-bound trains in Queens will stop at 67th Avenue, 63rd Drive, Woodhaven Boulevard, Grand and Elmhurst avenues (11 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday).

Jamaica-bound trains in Brooklyn will skip Avenue U, Avenue P, Avenue N, Bay Parkway and Avenue I.

M trains

Service between Metropolitan Avenue in Queens and Essex Street in Manhattan will be replaced by free shuttle buses.

G trains

Normal weekend service.

J trains

Service between Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn and Broad Street in Manhattan will be replaced by F, 4 and 6 trains and free shuttle buses.

L trains

Normal weekend service.

N trains

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

Q trains

Normal weekend service.

R trains

Normal weekend service.

W trains

Special weekend service between Whitehall Street in Manhattan and Ditmars Boulevard in Queens (7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday).

S shuttle

The 42nd Street Shuttle will run overnight.

Z trains

The Z does not run on weekends.
