Mystery surrounds death of woman who was found unconscious at the Red Hook Houses

The NYPD is investigating the death of a woman who was found unconscious outside of the Red Hook Houses in Brooklyn early Wednesday morning.

According to police, at 2:01 a.m. on Jan. 29, the NYPD responded to a 911 call regarding an unconscious person in front of 11 Lorraine St. Upon their arrival, officers found a 27-year-old woman unconscious and unresponsive.

EMS rushed the victim, whose identity is being withheld pending family notification, to New York Presbyterian-Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

At this time, the NYPD believes that the victim’s death is suspicious in nature. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
