Eat and Drink Museum of Ice Cream is sold out; what to do instead By Georgia Kral July 27, 2016 3:02 PM Print Share Share Tweet Share Email Sorry, you can't get into the Museum of Ice Cream: It's all sold out. The pop-up devoted to the frozen, creamy dessert will be open July 29 to Aug. 31, but unfortunately, you can't get tickets. You can try and show up on opening day between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. when entry is free, though it's sure to be very, very busy. But hey, this is NYC and everyone waits in line! If you're not one of those people, here are our suggestions for what to do instead. Make your own! Photo Credit: Georgia Kral CoolMess is New York City's new modern ice cream parlor where you literally make your own ice cream. Choose a chocolate or vanilla base, add whatever mix-ins you like, and BOOM. See how it works in our story here. Customize a Magnum bar Photo Credit: Jason DeCrow This international ice cream sensation has landed in SoHo. Customize your very own Magnum ice cream bar with a variety of chocolates and premium toppings for just $7. Get details here. Wade into the New York ice cream world's underbelly Photo Credit: Elizabeth Daza Hit up a Mister Softee or New York Ice Cream truck instead of going to the museum. There's a turf war of sorts going on, according to The New York Times. Instead of a pool filled with sprinkles... Photo Credit: McDonald's via Facebook The Museum of Ice Cream has a pool filled with sprinkles (no, you can't eat them). But since you can't get in there, just stop by a McDonald's with a ball pit instead. Extra points if you find some French fries! Go to the Sprinkles ATM Photo Credit: Spinkles For another quirky dessert option, head to the Upper East Side and get a cupcake out of an ATM. It may not be a pool filled with sprinkles, but it is located at Sprinkles bakery -- not the worst alternative? Enter the 'Hamilton' lottery Photo Credit: Joan Marcus New Yorkers may finally be too distracted by the Museum of Ice Cream to remember to enter the "Hamilton" online ticket lottery. Maybe not, but it's worth a try. By Georgia Kral Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Comments Comments section is temporarily on hold. Here’s why.
