Billy Joel to play monthly shows at Madison Square Garden

Billy Joel is moving in … to Madison Square Garden.

Starting on Jan. 27, 2014, the legendary singer will play concerts once a month at the midtown venue as long as interest from fans is there, according to MSG.

Joel will keep on playing "as long as there is demand" for him to do so, MSG said.

Joel, 64, previously announced four 2014 concerts at the Garden; tickets go on sale to the public on Dec. 7 for those, as well as a fifth show on May 6 (Joel’s 65th birthday).

Joel is MSG’s first "music franchise," joining the New York Knicks, Rangers and Liberty. Since 1978, Joel has played 46 shows at MSG.

The Dolan family owns controlling interests in Madison Square Garden and Cablevision. Cablevision owns amNewYork.
