EntertainmentCelebrities Ariana Grande apologizes for strange doughnut video Ariana Grande's odd doughnut moment By AMNY / REUTERS July 8, 2015 5:35 PM Print Share Share Tweet Share Email Well that's one way to sully a reputation. Ariana Grande issued an apology yesterday after she was caught on camera on Independence Day, licking doughnuts on a bakery's display case and proclaiming "I hate Americans. I hate America," offending Americans and food hygienists the world over. TMZ obtained the security footage from Wolfee Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California, which showed the "Problem" singer acting out alongside backup dancer, and reported new boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. "I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my county," 22-year-old Grande said in a statement. She went on to explain that she was upset by child obesity rates in America, which the doughnuts apparently evoked. She did not apologize, however, for her unsanitary food contamination, but said "let me once again apologize if I have offended anyone with my poor choice of words." Unrelated to the doughnut incident, it was announced yesterday that Demi Lovato will replace Grande at this weekend's Major League Baseball All-Star Game concert in Cincinnati. Grande reportedly pulled out of the concert because she had wisdom teeth removed on Monday. The concert will take place at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati on Saturday.
