‘Criminal Minds’ actor Thomas Gibson joins Twitter after firing, thanks fans for support

Thomas Gibson, fired from “Criminal Minds” Aug. 12 after first being suspended following an on-set altercation, has responded on a newly opened Twitter account.

“I wish I could thank each of you for your friendship & support. I love ‘Criminal Minds,’ & I’m disappointed by what’s happened,” Gibson, 54, told fans. “The support you show means the world to me and my family. This is not an ending, but a beginning as well. Thank you all.”

He added hours later, “Looking down the road . . .” and linked to an Instagram image of himself and his dog at the helm of a powerboat. “Hazel and I both looking forward to what’s down the road . . .,” he wrote.
