While many couples will be sharing romantic candlelit dinners on Valentine’s Day, Rory Feek will be holding his wife’s hand.

The singer wrote about his Valentine’s Day plans with his terminally ill wife Joey on his blog Friday. Joey ended treatment for colorectal cancer in late October, and is living out her final days in hospice care.

The country-bluegrass duo, known as Joey + Rory to fans, released their latest album, “Hymns That Are Important to Us,” on Friday.

Rory’s latest blog post, titled “the master plan,” highlights three moments he’s looking forward to spending with Joey: Valentine’s Day on Sunday, the Grammy awards on Monday, and their daughter Indiana’s second birthday on Wednesday.

“What I really want to do on this, our 14th Valentines together, is share a romantic candlelit dinner with my bride: grill out rib-eyes on the campfire back home, pour two glasses of red wine and sit across from her at our kitchen table — just like we’ve done on more than one special occasion. But those things aren’t able to happen this year," he wrote.

Rory continues to say that his hope is to instead hold Joey’s hand and “take her on a virtual walk down memory lane together.” He plans to show her photos and videos on his laptop.

“That, and I’m hoping for a few soft kisses,” he wrote. “I live for those kisses.”

A few days later, Rory and their family will gather around Joey’s bed and watch the Grammy Awards.

Then, on Wednesday, the family will celebrate Indiana’s birthday with a Gruffalo-themed party — again around Joey’s bed.

"Yes, I have a plan. But mine always gives way to His," Rory wrote. "Master plan."

Rory’s blog post has since gone viral, with fans and people touched by the story sharing it on social media.

“The latest blog entry from Rory Feek. Joey and he are such wonderful examples of what real faith is,” Karen Mcdaniel wrote on Facebook.

“Yes, this story is sad...and beautiful," Swati Sharma wrote on Facebook. "A loving couple that has been going through the worst of times and the best of times. Unlike the Kardashians who hog the news...this couple deserves a nod for what a loving relationship is and the devotion of a man for his dying wife."
