That long-awaited, long-rumored, long-expected, long-discussed "Full House" spin-off you've heard tell of? It is on: Former "House" star John Stamos confirmed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Monday night. But that would not be the big news here:

He said the Olsen twins, now 28, will join the series too.

Or, to rephrase, he hinted they would.

Mary-Kate and Ashley? Those with the sad eyes, big careers (fashion designers), and an inconceivable need to revive long ago roles that made them household names -- except perhaps to sell their fashion lines? But money is money and money talks, and Netflix has plenty of talking money, so I guess we'll see if this actually happens. In any event, Stamos Monday indicated that this Netflix "Full House" would indeed have a full house.

On that note, Netflix has also said there will be a new name:  "Fuller House." Stamos will guest (he was Uncle Jesse) and  other key cast members -- Candace Cameron-Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Andrea Barber -- will definitely join. As to those even more key castmembers --Bob Saget, the Olsens, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin -- they are officially still "in discussion" with Netflix.

"Full House" fans know, the Jeff Franklin-created ABC sitcom has been in revival talks -- it seems -- almost since leaving the air in '95 after an eight-season run. Netflix finally bit, and that raises a question -- why?  Networks and streaming services seek their own identifiable brand, and Netflix has certainly done that with series like "House of Cards" and more recently "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt."

Why this back to the future series, so representative of another decade and indeed another century?  What "new" can Netflix possibly bring?

And will this revival -- arrival date in 2016 -- begin the usual ruminations about other revivals or reunions? ("Friends" is the usual suspect here, but that discussion is a non-starter).

But we digress. Check out Stamos's big news above.
