The new show, “After the Thrones,” comes from Bill Simmons, formerly of ESPN, who signed a long-term production deal with HBO last summer. While Simmons is not expected to host — that will be done by Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan, formerly of Simmons’ Grantland website — don’t be too surprised if “The Boston Sports Guy” makes an occasional visit. A prolific and popular podcaster, Simmons knows how to talk about a lot of things) — almost certainly Westeros among them Both Ryan and Greenwald hosted the “Watch the Thrones” podcast for the now defunct Grantland; Greenwald was also an esteemed and widely read television critic for the site. This after-show, by the way, will appear on HBO GO, HBO on Demand, and HBO NOW, the Monday after.
