Jennifer Lawrence on ‘SNL’: Trashes Jessica Chastain, other Oscar nominees

Should Jennifer Lawrence put her foot in her mouth, or is her sarcastic brand of humor just misunderstood?

The actress, 22, hosted the first "Saturday Night Live" episode of 2013 Saturday, and she didn’t hold back as she took some (lighthearted?) digs at her fellow Oscar nominees.

Playing off her best actress acceptance speech at the Jan. 13 Golden Globes — when she exclaimed, "I beat Meryl!", an assumed diss to Meryl Streep that Lawrence later explained was a quote from "The First Wives Club"– Lawrence said she would "never trash-talk any of my fellow nominees at the Golden Globes. But the Oscars are another story."

"Ladies, I love you all but you’re about to get served," the "Silver Linings Playbook" star deadpanned.

"In ‘Zero Dark Thirty,’ you caught [Osama] Bin Laden," Lawrence said of Jessica Chastain. "So what? In ‘Winter’s Bone,’ I caught a squirrel and then I ate it."

Of 9-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis, star of "Beasts of the Southern Wild," she said: "The alphabet called. They want their letters back."

Ouch.

Lawrence also made headlines earlier in January when she told Vanity Fair that "acting is stupid."
