Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to appear on a future episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” the White House says.

According to the vice president’s official schedule, Biden will film the episode Friday, focusing “on the rape kit backlog and efforts to end violence against women.”

Ice-T, who plays NYPD Detective Odafin Tutuola on the show, tweeted a picture of Biden on set with Mariska Hargitay. He captioned the photo, "Joe is in the Building.... SVU."

The role is not exactly out of character for Biden. He is a known advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault who has worked in the past with Hargitay on her philanthropic endeavor "The Joyful Heart Foundation." She started the organization to help sexual assault survivors heal and "reclaim a sense of joy in their lives." In May, the foundation honored Biden at its Joyful Revolution Gala.

Biden most recently appeared at the United State of Women Summit in June at the White House, discussing the problem of victim-blaming in sexual assault cases.

"We will have succeeded when not a single woman who is violated ever, ever asks herself the question, 'What did I do?,’” Biden said.

Ice-T followed up his photo of Biden by posting a memento. The caption on one picture of an official government coin reads, "VPs head of security just gave me this.... And said I'm good with them... Juice." The other, a picture of the other side of the coin says, "Back view of VP Challenge Coin.. And YES Biden was cool as F.. Knew a lot about me.. Way more than I expected."

Biden has made several cameos in the past on NBC's "Parks and Recreation."An air date of the episode has yet to be announced.
