The New York Mets announced that the organization will hold its first ever “Amazin’ Day” celebration March 25 in anticipation of the start of the 2023 season. This event will include unique celebrations online and all over New York City.

Fans who wear a Mets hat or any Mets gear during the celebration will be granted access to several events at iconic institutions across New York City, community-focused events and giveaways throughout the day. Fans will be able to sign up for the chance to win exclusive ticketed events. Additionally, fans can now enter the Amazin’ Day Sweepstakes to win the ultimate grand prize.

“The Mets are entering a new era with great baseball and so much more,” said Mets EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Andy Goldberg. “Amazin’ Day is a demonstration of that philosophy, giving people across the city a chance to experience different aspects of New York and be ‘amazed’ on behalf of the Mets. We look forward to bringing the Mets’ infectious energy to the streets of New York City and surprising and delighting fans with pop-ups and giveaways, free access to some of the city’s most iconic venues and opportunities to give back.”

Iconic locations that will be holding limited ticket events that day include the Gotham Comedy Club and Metropolitan Opera. People wearing Mets apparel will be granted free access on a first-come, first-serve basis to immersive experiences at the Brooklyn Museum, Hudson Yards, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Webster HallTerminal 5Brooklyn Steel and Racket NYC.

Since its inception, the Amazin’ Mets Foundation has provided more than $5 million in grants to local nonprofits that provide needed services and opportunities to children, families, and underserved groups in the communities near Citi Field. As an extension of this work, the New York Mets and the Amazin’ Mets Foundation are inviting New Yorkers to support the community on Amazin’ Day.

There will be appearances from several Mets alumni as well as Mr. and Mrs. Met at community events throughout the day. Among the participating organizations and events are a pop-up animal adoption event with North Shore Animal League America at Wollman Rink, a Diamond Takeover youth baseball game at NYC Parks’ Flushing Meadows Corona Park, where the Mets will donate gear to the local teams and announce a grant to renovate the field and a distribution of Mets co-branded, limited-edition library cards with Queens Public Library.

In addition to a line-up of planned events and multiple activation points across the city, fans wearing their Mets gear will be in for fun surprises. Official Mets Reps will be giving out swag, participating Coca-Cola restaurants will give away free Coke products and the Dunkin’ Jeep will drive around sharing gift cards. Additionally, there will be Amazin’ Day Merch Pop-Ups throughout Manhattan and Queens, with reps handing out free Amazin’ Day Mets hats and gear throughout the day.

Out-of-town fans will have an opportunity to participate virtually via the Mets’ social channels. Fans across the country are encouraged to share their Mets fandom and gear on social media with the hashtag #AmazinDay.

Fans will be encouraged to enter the Amazin’ Day Sweepstakes for a chance to win the Amazin’ Day Grand Prize, which brings a new meaning to a fan-first experience. The winner of the Amazin’ Day Sweepstakes will be given unprecedented access to Citi Field, including throwing out the first pitch, meeting the players during batting practice, receiving premium tickets and sitting in on a pregame press conference.
