It may cost you a little more to continue binge watching your favorite show on Netflix next month.
Starting in May, users who have had the steaming service for over two years will have to pay $9.99 for an HD plan each month, $2 more than the current price. An SD plan will be $7.99 a month.
The higher price for the subscription was announced in May 2014, so any users who subscribed since then have already been paying $9.99 each month. The announcement, however, included a two-year grandfather clause that allowed prices for the then-current subscribers to be locked in at $7.99 for two years.
But that two-year period ends in May.
“Impacted members will be clearly notified by email and within the service, so that they have time to decide which plan/price point works best for them,” Netflix said in a statement.
Subscribers can check when their price expires by logging into Netflix, clicking “Account” and looking under “Plan Details.”
