Entertainment Looking back at Paul Simon's memorable NYC performances in photos By Meghan Giannotta firstname.lastname@example.org Updated September 20, 2018 1:59 PM Print Share fbShare Tweet gShare Email It's only fitting for Paul Simon to perform what he's saying will be his last show ever in New York City. Some of the Queens-born singer's most iconic performances took place within the city's storied venues and parks, including the showstopper 1981 Art Garfunkel reunion concert and free 1991 show, both which took over Central Park. On Saturday, he'll leave New York City with yet another show for the books. The 76-year-old musician will say so long to a decades-long touring career with a show at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park. In honor of his farewell stint, we're taking a look back at some of the artist's most memorable NYC show moments, from the 1981 reunion to today. Photo Credit: Newsday / Audrey C. "Simon wasn't talking to Garfunkel. Crimes ranging from auto theft to homicide were almost unchecked, and the city was teetering on bankruptcy," a photographer recalls of the concert.
