In this New York City subway car, Roseanne Conner is always right.
In anticipation of the “Roseanne” reboot, ABC has transformed a subway train into the Conner family living room.
A sticker wrap replaces advertisements and NYC transit maps with family portraits and transforms the car’s seats into the iconic plaid couch were Dan and Roseanne could be found more often than not during the sitcom, which aired 10 seasons between 1988 and 1997. The family’s patchwork afghan lines the seats, giving off a homey vibe that’ll make you forget — if only for a moment — that you’re actually not about to kick back on a comfortable sofa.
“When we learned we were doing a Roseanne reboot, the excitement was palpable,” said ABC head of marketing Rebecca Daugherty, the woman behind the subway installation. “We knew we had to lean into the nostalgia to remind fans what they loved about the original Roseanne and build excitement for the new show.”
The nostalgia-packed shuttle train will run between Grand Central Terminal and Times Square for four weeks, starting March 2, ABC confirmed.
The Lanford, Illinois-set series will return with its reboot on March 27 at 8 p.m. Much of the cast — including Roseanne (Barr), D.J. (Michael Fishman), Darlene (Sara Gilbert), David (Johnny Galecki) and Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) — are set to return to their roles. Even Dan, played by John Goodman, will be back on the show despite being killed off in the show’s original finale.
