“Star Wars’ to be shown for first time in China

For the first time, those in China will get to enjoy the “Star Wars” series on the big screen.

All six films in the series will be shown during the 18th annual Shanghai International Film Festival, taking place from June 13-21, organizers announced Monday.

According to a news release by organizers a “well-informed source in Walt Disney Pictures,” said the films are “so popular they have a large number of fans in Chinese mainland.”

Organizers also called the series, “the greatest sci-fi masterpiece in film history.”

We have some advice, however, for viewers in China.

Do yourself a favor and skip “The Phantom Menace.” Just watch any other movie that day. Trust us, it’s terrible.

The next installment in the series, “The Force Awakens” will be released on Dec. 18.
