Entertainment 'The Lion King' Australian cast performs 'Circle of Life' during flight 'The Lion King' cast sings 'Circle of Life' during flight By JENNY EARL/NEWSDAY email@example.com April 1, 2014 7:49 PM Print Share Share Tweet Share Email It’s the Circle of Life – and it moved everyone on Flight 0970. The Australian cast of “The Lion King” surprised fellow passengers on a Virgin Australia flight from Brisbane to Sydney on Monday with an impromptu performance of “Circle of Life.” The performance came a day after the Sydney company announced that “The Lion King” would begin its first ever Brisbane season in September at Lyric Theatre. “After an amazing day at The Lion King Brisbane season launch announcement, members of our Australian cast felt so elated they decided to sing the ‘Circle of Life’ prior to take off on their flight back to Sydney!” Disney On Broadway posted on its YouTube channel. Everyone seemed to enjoy the live in-flight entertainment, including a flight attendant, who stepped in to videotape the singing. A YouTube video of the flash mob has already been viewed more than 515,000 times. “Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful flight it was when @TheLionKing cast performed ‘The Circle of Life’ for passengers,” Virgin Australia tweeted from its official Twitter page (@VirginAustralia). One Twitter user’s only complaint: Nobody on the plane held up a baby at the end of the performance. "The captain said he’s quite embarrassed cause his PA didn’t compare," the stewardess announced at the end of the video.
