The New York Knicks officially canned Head Coach Dave Fizdale today, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Despite a previous vote of confidence from the Knicks front office this year, apparently a 4-18 record along with other factors was enough to shatter the front office’s faith in the coach during his second season of disappointment in MSG.

Some of his last public comments as coach came after New York suffered a blowout, 132-88 loss against the first place Milwaukee Bucks earlier this week.

“I don’t feel we came in here with the idea we could beat this team,” Fizdale said after the game, noting that his team “never took a real stand.”

An interim head coach has not yet been named.
