UberEATS is one of many food delivery services available to hungry New Yorkers. The company, an offshoot of the ride-sharing service Uber, sought to set itself apart in a saturated market by offering a handpicked lineup of restaurants. Judging by the types of restaurants included, UberEATS (ubereats.com) imagined its users to be conscientious eaters and foodies looking for better food than standard takeout.
The standalone app launched on March 22 in cities across the country, including New York City. Only available in Manhattan for now, the app contracts with 109 restaurants.
Not yet a month old, UberEATS has released data that shows the top 10 items ordered via the app between the hours of 5 and 9 p.m. in Manhattan.
