Zagat’s 2017 guide to New York City’s best restaurants is out.
And while many of the top restaurants will be familiar to foodies, Zagat devotees will notice the guide itself looks a little different. No, those ratings aren’t typos, and no, your favorite restaurant didn’t mysteriously plummet 25 points: Zagat has trimmed down its rankings from a 30-point scale to a 5-point ranking system.
But never fear, the trusty dollar-sign price guide and breezy quotations describing the cuisine and the decor remain in this year’s guide, which offers separate 5-point ratings for the food, decor and service at each restaurant.
Here’s a look at 20 restaurants at the top of the “top food” category.
