The 18-year-old who has Down syndrome announced she'll be walking the runway and her thousands of supporters just can't wait to watch. In February, actress Jamie Brewer became the first model with Down syndrome to walk at New York Fashion Week. Now, Stuart will follow in her footsteps. She shared a photo to Instagram on Tuesday announcing her contract with FTL MODA, a company that's known for its futuristic Italian runway designs. Since then, magazines and news organizations have picked up her story. The Australian model is no stranger to viral fame though. She was the talk of the Internet months ago when she posted her model shots to Facebook and her recent Fashion Week contract has landed her back in the spotlight. "It is with the utmost joy and pride that we announce Madeline Stuart's participation in #FTLModa #NYFW #SS2016 presentation," the brand wrote on Facebook confirming Stuart's Instagram announcement. "Beautiful Madeline will brighten up the runway." Fashion Week isn't Stuart's only modeling gig. People Magazine reports that the 18-year-old also has contracts with two other major brands, Manifesta and everMaya. "There's a lot of big deals happening at the moment, it's ridiculous!" her mom, Rosanne Stuart told Cosmopolitan. "It is very exciting and it's going to take her from one level to the next." Stuart will hit the New York runway on September 13 in association with the Christopher Reeve Foundation.
