Each summer, New York City becomes a stage for the latest film, music and arts from Latin America. Here are just three of the festivities going on this year.

Clamoring for more Brazilian culture after watching the World Cup for the first half of the summer? Brasil Summerfest, which kicks off July 18 and runs through July 26, will feature over a dozen musical acts at venues throughout the city. Highlights include Arto Lindsay at (Le) poisson rouge and Bebel Gilberto at Celebrate Brooklyn.

Under The Same Sun: Art From Latin America Today

With “Under the Same Sun: Art From Latin America Today,” the Guggenheim is showcasing works by 40 contemporary artists from Latin America. The works include installations, mixed-media works, paintings, sculptures and videos.

Each year, the Film Society of Lincoln Center showcases the best in Latin American cinema through its Latinbeat series. This year’s picks include Brazilian Fellipe Barbosa’s “Casa Grande,” Spanish telenovela star Miguel Ferrari’s “My Straight Son” and Chilean Marcela Said’s “The Summer of Flying Fish.”
