Here are just three of the festivities going on this year. Brasil Summerfest, which kicks off July 18 and runs through July 26, will feature over a dozen musical acts at venues throughout the city. Highlights include Arto Lindsay at (Le) poisson rouge and Bebel Gilberto at Celebrate Brooklyn. Where: Various locations When: July 18 to 26 Under The Same Sun: Art From Latin America Today Photo Credit: David Heald With “Under the Same Sun: Art From Latin America Today,” the Guggenheim is showcasing works by 40 contemporary artists from Latin America. The works include installations, mixed-media works, paintings, sculptures and videos. Where: Guggenheim When: On view through October 1 Latinbeat Photo Credit: Casa Grande, Migdal Films Each year, the Film Society of Lincoln Center showcases the best in Latin American cinema through its Latinbeat series.
