Lena Dunham paddles for charity; Beth Stern’s party gets washed over and more Hamptons buzz

Lena Dunham needs a rescue

Lena Dunham started her Saturday early at Havens Beach in Sag Harbor happily posing with fans at the Paddle for Pink race.

After a quick paddle board lesson, Dunham said she was ready to race — “I truly am!”

She entered the water alongside her friend, fitness guru Tracy Anderson, who rocked a magenta La Maree bikini , and she was later saved by professional surfer Laird Hamilton, who paddled into the water and guided Dunham to shore as she struggled to finish.

The event, hosted by Hamilton and his wife, professional volleyball player Gabrielle Reece, benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It was founded in 2012 by Maria Baum, a breast cancer survivor, BCRF board member and entrepreneur.

Hamilton took the stage and reminded paddlers that our good health is our greatest gift, “you don’t really appreciate it until you have an issue with it.”

Hamilton and Reece were fresh off the release of their nude photos for ESPN’s Body Issue in which they posed together on a paddle board.

“The end game picture might be a little more glamorous than the process that’s all I want to tell you. It was not pretty, and Laird … he was not happy!”

Actor Breckin Meyer and Charlie and Lauran Walk were also at the event. Afterward, the festivities continued with the Paddle for Pink party at Fairview on Mecox Bay in Bridgehampton. Joining in on the party were Matt Lauer, Jane Krakowski, Molly Sims, Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman, Bethenny Frankel, and surprise guest Gwenyth Paltrow, who wore a By TiMo exclusive for goop. Guests danced in their pink party best to the music of Nile Rodgers & Chic. The Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink raised over $1.6 million, organizers said.

A wash-out with the Sterns

Social Life Magazine toasted their bikini clad August cover girl Beth Stern and her husband Howard (he shot the swimsuit spread inside) at a private dinner catered by Andrea Correale and Elegant Affairs.

Guests feasted on branzino with yellow saffron sauce and grilled sirloin. An hour into dinner the full moon came out and the tide came up unusually high and washed over the floor, so everyone took off their footwear, rolled up their pants and continued the moonlit celebration!

Co-stars collide at magazine party

Women’s Health Magazine hosted its Party Under the Stars in partnership with Lauren Bush Lauren and the FEED Foundation at the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club on Saturday night. Actresses Laura Prepon, Rosario Dawson and Adrienne Bailon danced to DJ (and Prepon’s “Orange is the New Black” co-star) Taryn Manning’s sets. Molly Sims and former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman, Countess LuAnn de Lesepps, Finget Zee, and Kelly Bensimon  also attended the beachside affair.
