Amy Adams stars in new Max Mara campaign

A-list actress Amy Adams is the star of the autumn/winter 2015 print ad campaign for Italian luxury clothing and accessories brand Max Mara. It’s the second season the company has harnessed American star power to promote its wares globally … last season it was Jennifer Garner.

Adams, 39, is specifically promoting the label’s key accessories — leather handbags, and smart new sunglasses …and who wears them better? Adams’ Academy Award-nominated performance in “American Hustle” portrayed the flame-haired actress as a shade-wearing knockout.

“Amy Adams is timeless, very versatile in her career and a great person to work with. Amy is truly amazing in front of the camera,” says Giorgio Guidotti, worldwide president of public relations and communications for Max Mara Group. According to WWD, Max Mara’s accessories categories have grown significantly over the past four seasons.

The images — gorgeous — were shot at Pier 59 in late April by Mario Sorrenti and feature a smoky-eyed Adams wearing the label’s signature coats posed with the bags and in sunglasses. There are five separate ads which will break in August.

Adams’ popularity continues to surge. Last year, in addition to “American Hustle,” she starred in “Her” and later this year will appear in “Big Eyes,” the new feature film by Tim Burton. In 2016, she’ll star opposite Ben Affleck in “Batman vs. Superman” directed by Zack Snyder, as well as “Story of your Life” directed by Denis Villeneuve.

This is not Adams’ first time as the face of a fashion or beauty brand. She was featured in the Fall 2012 Boy by Band of Outsiders Polaroid campaign and the fall 2013 Lacoste fragrance ad.
