From Germany to Mexico and other international destinations, fashion industry professionals—designers, models, show producers, commentators and influencers flock here during Fashion Week, which took place last week.

One architect and art professor from Argentina accompanied a group from Latin America for two weeks to experience the many aspects of the fashion world.

And while interesting fashions are always seen on the streets of the city— after all, this is New York— during Fashion Week these expressions of apparel creativity abundantly appear both on and off the runway.

Additionally, more than one designer is involved with an accessory where its production aim is beyond mere fashion— for example, a jewelry line that works with women in prison in India or handbags stitched by hand in this country by recent Haitian refugees.
