LifestyleStyle Rio Olympics gear hits the retail market: See what’s online and in stores By Meredith Deliso email@example.com Updated July 6, 2016 11:33 AM Print Share fbShare Tweet Email An Olympic-grade wardrobe isn’t just for those headed to Rio. Here are a few retail versions of competitive gear that the athletes will be wearing at this summer’s games. Swimming: LZR Racer X Photo Credit: Speedo Every nanosecond counts during a 100-, 200- or 400-meter race -- with the difference between first and second place often hundreths of a second. Speedo is at the forefront of competitive swimwear, and its latest design -- LZR Racer X -- uses one-way stretch technology to improve forward motion while resisting horizontal stretch to reduce drag, as well as bonded seams and compressive, light-weight fabric. Retail models include this high waist jammer. $359; available now at speedousa.com. Golf: Adidas polo Photo Credit: Adidas With golf back in the Olympics for the first time since 1904, Adidas Golf has designed tops and bottoms for the U.S. women's and men's teams, incorporating the brand's Climacool and Climachill performance fabrics. Retail versions of the items are available, including this men's USA flag polo. $90; available now at adidasgolf.com. Track and field: Nike Wing sunglasses Photo Credit: Nike Among its innovations for track and field athletes competing at the Rio Olympics are Nike's new sunglasses, Nike Wing. The high-tech, high-priced shades are made from a single piece of glass without hinges to cut through the wind, use a ventilated silicone brow bar to reduce fogging and feature a special tint to reduce glare and allow only red light -- which has a calming effect -- through. The lightweight frames also weigh four grams less than the average pair of sunglasses. $1,200; available Aug. 5 at nike.com Champions across sports: Dynamic Reveal Jacket Photo Credit: Nike For athletes on the U.S. team accepting a gold, silver or bronze medal, NikeLab has designed this Dynamic Reveal Jacket, made with ribbed knit sleeves for breathability and mobility, mesh back and side panels for ventilation and the letters U-S-A down the back, to wear on the podium. A similar model for Team Brasil in its country's colors is also available. $450; available July 28 at nike.com/us/en_us/c/nikelab and select NikeLab stores.
