Police say 4 arrested, injured after Midtown Manhattan brawl

Police say four men are under arrest after a wild brawl involving a knife and a tire iron in midtown Manhattan near Times Square.

The fight started shortly after 9 p.m. Monday at West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue.

The New York Post reports that the brawlers were vagrants armed with weapons including a tire iron and a knife.

A police spokesman said Tuesday that four men were arrested and all were taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Details on their conditions and the charges they face were not available

Witnesses described a chaotic scene on the busy block. Mohammed Chowdhury, who works in a nearby building, told the Post he saw two men on the ground and a third giving advice, “Hit him! Hit him!”
