Friday, July 24 is National Tequila Day!

As if you needed an excuse to imbibe, invite over some friends to celebrate and impress them with these fancy tequila cocktail recipes. They'll last a bit longer than a round of celebratory shots.

Mexican Martini by Garrett Flanagan

Ingredients: 1.5 oz. Lime Juice 1.5 oz. Simple

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. Lime Juice

1.5 oz. Simple Syrup

3 oz. Tequila

0.5 oz. Olive Juice

Method:

Shake with ice, pour into martini glass and garnish with olives

Ingredients: 2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila 0.75 oz.

2 oz. Casamigos Blanco Tequila

0.75 oz. Fresh lime juice

0.25 oz. Crème de Cassis

Muddled blackberries

Method:

Combine Tequila, lime juice, Crème de Cassis with muddled blackberries. Strain. Pour into ice-filled glass and top with Goslings Ginger Beer.

Ingredients: 2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila Watermelon bites

Ingredients:

2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila

Watermelon bites to taste

1 oz watermelon juice

Jalapenos to taste

1 oz Simple Syrup

1 oz Lime Juice

Method:

Prepare cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Add 2 ounces of Milagro Silver Tequila, 1 oz watermelon juice, jalapenos, and an ounce each of simple syrup and lime juice. Shake vigorously. Add to a glass of your choice filled with ice.

Ingredients: 2 parts Hornitos Spiced Honey 1/2 part

Ingredients:

2 parts Hornitos Spiced Honey

1/2 part lime juice

2 parts grapefruit juice

Tonic

Method:

Combine all ingredients except tonic in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously, strain over fresh ice and top with tonic.

Ingredients: 2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila 1/2 part

Ingredients:

2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila

1/2 part lime juice

3/4 part simple syrup

jalapeno

Method:

Muddle one jalapeño slice in a glass, combine remainder of ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain into the glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a jalapeño slice.

6 oz Roca Patrón Reposado

2 oz Patrón Citrónge Mango

3 oz Orange/Chamomile Tea-Infused Sweet Vermouth

3 oz Lime Juice

10 White Sugar Cubes

6 oz Club Soda

Muddle sugar cubes with lime juice, Stir all ingredients (except for club soda) with ice. Strain over 1 large block of ice. Add club soda, and garnish with orange wheels and edible flowers.

Orange Chamomile infused sweet vermouth:

-5 tsp Orange Chamomile Tea Leaves

-750ml Dolin Sweet Vermouth

Infuse tea in vermouth for 2 hours. After 2 hours, strain out tea and refrigerate.

Serves 4-5

Cucumber Matcha Margarita from Haru

Ingredients: 3 ea. fresh cucumber slice 2 ea.

3 ea. fresh cucumber slice

2 ea. jalapeño slice

2 ea. mint leaves

1.5 oz. Avión Silver Tequila

0.5 oz. Luxardo

0.5 oz. Agave syrup

1/4 tsp. matcha Powder

Method:

Muddle cucumber, jalapeño and mint in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, ice and shake vigourously for 8-10 seconds. Strain and serve into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with cucumber wheel and mint.

0.75 oz spiced honey syrup

0.5 oz lemon juice

0.5 oz peach puree

Sparkling brut rose

Method:

Shake DeLeon Tequila, Grand Marnier, syrup, lemon and peach puree over ice and top with a splash of sparkling brut rose.

2 oz Cazadores Tequila

0.75 oz fresh lime juice

0.5 oz St. Germain Elderflower

0.5 oz pineapple juice

0.5 oz Spicy Agave

Peychaud's Bitters for garnish

Method:

Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass. Add large cold ice and shake vigorously. Strain all contends into a Collins glass. Top off with couple dashed of peychaud's bitters.

CRUZ Old Fashioned

Ingredients: 2 parts Cruz Reposado Tequila ½ part

Ingredients:

2 parts Cruz Reposado Tequila

½ part simple syrup

2 dashes Peychaud's bitters

2 dashes Orange bitters

1 slice orange rind

1 slice grapefruit rind

Method:

Combine all ingredients except rinds with ice and stir for 40 seconds. Garnish with an orange and grapefruit rind.

Ingredients: 1.5 oz 1800 Silver 2.5 oz pineapple

1.5 oz 1800 Silver

2.5 oz pineapple juice

0.5 oz benedictine

0.5 oz lime juice

0.75 oz cherry brandy

Pineapple Leaf Brandied Cherry

Method:

Combine all except cherry brandy in a cocktail shaker and shake well with ice. Strain into a Hurricane or Tiki Glass filled with ice. Drizzle the Cherry Heering over the top of the drink and garnish with pineapple leaf brandied cherry.

0.25 oz Smith and Cross Rum

0.75 oz Sherry

0.5 oz Velvet Falernum

0.75 oz lime juice

0.5 oz passion fruit syrup

Method:

Shake all ingredients and pour into a frosted mug over crushed ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint.
