As if you needed an excuse to imbibe, invite over some friends to celebrate and impress them with these fancy tequila cocktail recipes. They'll last a bit longer than a round of celebratory shots. Casamigos Blanco Tequila 0.75 oz. Fresh lime juice 0.25 oz. Crème de Cassis Muddled blackberries Method: Combine Tequila, lime juice, Crème de Cassis with muddled blackberries. Strain. Pour into ice-filled glass and top with Goslings Ginger Beer. Add 2 ounces of Milagro Silver Tequila, 1 oz watermelon juice, jalapenos, and an ounce each of simple syrup and lime juice. Shake vigorously. Add to a glass of your choice filled with ice. No. 8, 357 W. 16th St. Mexicollins by Carlos Abeyta Photo Credit: Hornitos Ingredients: 2 parts Hornitos Spiced Honey 1/2 part lime juice 2 parts grapefruit juice Tonic Method: Combine all ingredients except tonic in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously, strain over fresh ice and top with tonic. Muy Caliente by Carlos Abeyta Photo Credit: Hornitos Ingredients: 2 parts Hornitos Plata Tequila 1/2 part lime juice 3/4 part simple syrup jalapeno Method: Muddle one jalapeño slice in a glass, combine remainder of ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously and strain into the glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a jalapeño slice. Strain over 1 large block of ice. Add club soda, and garnish with orange wheels and edible flowers. Orange Chamomile infused sweet vermouth: -5 tsp Orange Chamomile Tea Leaves -750ml Dolin Sweet Vermouth Infuse tea in vermouth for 2 hours. After 2 hours, strain out tea and refrigerate. Serves 4-5 Cucumber Matcha Margarita from Haru Photo Credit: Haru Ingredients: 3 ea. fresh cucumber slice 2 ea. jalapeño slice 2 ea. mint leaves 1.5 oz. Avión Silver Tequila 0.5 oz. Luxardo 0.5 oz. Agave syrup 1/4 tsp. matcha Powder Method: Muddle cucumber, jalapeño and mint in a mixing glass. Add remaining ingredients, ice and shake vigourously for 8-10 seconds. Strain and serve into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with cucumber wheel and mint. Find this drink at Haru, multiple locations. Peach Colored Glasses by Meaghan Montagano Photo Credit: DeLeon Ingredients: 1.5 oz DeLeon Platinum Tequila 1 oz Grand Marnier Raspberry Peach 0.75 oz spiced honey syrup 0.5 oz lemon juice 0.5 oz peach puree Sparkling brut rose Method: Shake DeLeon Tequila, Grand Marnier, syrup, lemon and peach puree over ice and top with a splash of sparkling brut rose. Add large cold ice and shake vigorously. Strain all contends into a Collins glass. Top off with couple dashed of peychaud's bitters. Nelson Lemus is the bar consultant at Cantina Rooftop, 605 W. 48th St. CRUZ Old Fashioned Photo Credit: Cruz Tequila Ingredients: 2 parts Cruz Reposado Tequila ½ part simple syrup 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters 2 dashes Orange bitters 1 slice orange rind 1 slice grapefruit rind Method: Combine all ingredients except rinds with ice and stir for 40 seconds. Garnish with an orange and grapefruit rind. San Lucas Sling by Rob Krueger Photo Credit: 1800 Tequila Ingredients: 1.5 oz 1800 Silver 2.5 oz pineapple juice 0.5 oz benedictine 0.5 oz lime juice 0.75 oz cherry brandy Pineapple Leaf Brandied Cherry Method: Combine all except cherry brandy in a cocktail shaker and shake well with ice. Strain into a Hurricane or Tiki Glass filled with ice. Drizzle the Cherry Heering over the top of the drink and garnish with pineapple leaf brandied cherry.
