Bronx man arrested for shooting another man in a drug-related dispute: NYPD

A Bronx man turned himself into police custody on Saturday for shooting another man in the borough last month.

Police say that Joshua Slade, 26, voluntarily turned himself in at the 40th Precinct stationhouse on March 7. He was charged with murder and assault.

According to authorities, at 2:27 a.m. on Feb. 9, police responded to a 911 call regarding a man shot outside of a residence on East 137th Street near Willis Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found 29-year-old Jesse Christie with a gunshot wound to the chest.

A spokesperson for the NYPD confirmed that Slade shot Christie over a drug-related dispute.

Christie was rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.
