A Bronx man was arrested for allegedly strangling a woman to death during a burglary in her home.

According to police, on April 27 officers arrested 33-year-old Joshua Grant in connection to the death of 57-year-old Bronx resident Lesa Whitlow. He was charged with murder, manslaughter and burglary.

Police say that at 7:50 on April 15, officers found Whitlow in her Anthony Avenue home unconscious and unresponsive. EMS declared Whitlow dead at the scene. The NYPD later confirmed that Whitlow had been strangled.

At this time, it is not immediately clear if Grant and Whitlow had known each other prior to the incident.
