Man in custody after woman was found with multiple stab wounds in the Bronx: cops

A man was taken into custody on Sunday night after a woman was found stabbed to death in the Bronx.

Authorities say that at 7:37 p.m. on March 1, the NYPD responded to a call regarding an assault in progress at a residence on Ellis Avenue near Pugsley Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers found a 29-year-old woman in a third floor hallway with multiple stab wounds throughout her body.

EMS rushed the victim to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi, where she was pronounced dead. her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A 29-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene, however charges have not been filed against him at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
