Detectives continue to probe a pair of deadly shootings in the Bronx and the Inwood section of Manhattan that occurred this weekend.
The Bronx shooting happened at about 7:54 p.m. on Aug. 28 in the vicinity of Webster Avenue and East Fordham Road in Fordham Manor.
Officers from the 52nd Precinct, in responding to a 911 call, found the 35-year-old male victim unconscious and unresponsive, with two bullet wounds to his chest.
EMS units rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.
As of Sunday morning, police did not provide information about a possible motive for the murder, or a description of the shooter. So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, on Saturday night, the NYPD released video footage of two male suspects connected to a deadly shooting in Inwood on Friday night.
Police said Stephen Turner, 27, of 7th Avenue in Midtown was gunned down near the corner of 10th Avenue and West 211th Street at about 1:50 a.m. on Aug. 27.
Officers from the 34th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found Turner with a bullet wound to his chest. EMS rushed him to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Pavilion Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police later learned that a second victim involved in the incident, a 27-year-old man, had been brought via private means to the Allen Pavilion Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his right hand. He’s listed in stable condition.
According to a law enforcement source, it’s believed that the shooting stemmed from a dispute which began at a nearby establishment and spilled out onto the street. The motive for the dispute remained undisclosed as of Sunday morning.
No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
The two suspects are shown in security camera footage near the scene of the shooting. One of the suspects appears to be engaged in an argument with someone off-camera.
