Detectives in Brooklyn are looking for clues and suspects surrounding the death of a 31-year-old man who walked into a hospital with a serious gunshot wound early on Monday morning.

Through private means, law enforcement sources said, the unidentified victim arrived at Kings County Hospital, located at 451 Clarkson Ave., at about 12:35 a.m. on May 17. He had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and was rushed to the emergency room for treatment.

Despite the medical team’s best efforts, the victim died at the hospital a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.

At this point in the ongoing investigation, detectives do not yet know where the victim was initially shot, or the circumstances that led to the attack.

Sources familiar with the investigation said that police are investigating a possible link between that homicide and another shooting earlier on Monday morning at a house party in East Flatbush.

In that incident, authorities said, a 30-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and legs after the bullets rang out at 688 Remsen Ave. at about 12:23 a.m. on May 17. The victim was brought to nearby Brookdale University Hospital for treatment of injuries not considered to be life-threatening.

So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

Meanwhile, detectives in the Bronx are looking into a pair of non-fatal shootings between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Law enforcement sources said a 31-year-old man took bullets to his torso and leg during an apparent robbery in front of 1534 Selwyn Ave. in Claremont at about 10:33 p.m. on May 16.

According to police, two robbers approached the suspect at the location and demanded the victim’s property — with one of the perpetrators displaying a firearm.

That led to a physical struggle between the victim and two robbers. During the fracas, cops said, the gunman pulled the trigger on the victim. Both robbers fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was brought by private means to Bronx Lebanon Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Later, on Monday morning, a gunman shot and wounded a 16-year-old boy in front of an apartment building at 2414 Belmont Ave. in Belmont at about 1:25 a.m. on May 17.

According to police, the victim told detectives he was walking in front of the location when he heard shots, felt pain and discovered that he had been struck in the arm.

EMS units rushed the teenager to St. Barnabas Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Officers at the scene recovered a number of shell casings from the location.

No arrests have been made in either Bronx shooting, police said.
