An allegedly unlicensed driver from Brooklyn was charged Thursday for running down a mother and her seven-year-old son at an East New York intersection earlier that morning, killing the boy.

Susan Pierrot, 48, of Sheffield Avenue faces charges of aggravated unlicensed operator, failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.

Cops said Pierrot was behind the wheel of a Jeep Cherokee that struck a 34-year-old woman and her seven-year-old son at 8:15 a.m. on Feb. 27 as they attempted to cross at the corner of Pennsylvania and Blake Avenues.

The child, Payson Lott of Wyona Street, later succumbed to his injuries at Brookdale University Hospital. His mother, not identified by police, remains hospitalized in stable condition after suffering head trauma.

Law enforcement sources said Payson and his mom were walking through the crosswalk across Pennsylvania Avenue when Pierrot struck them with her Jeep Cherokee while turning southbound onto the roadway from eastbound on the one-way Blake Avenue.

Authorities reported that the vehicle had initially fled the intersection, but returned moments later.

Additional charges against Pierrot are pending the results of the ongoing investigation.

It’s the second fatal pedestrian collision in the East New York area this week. On Tuesday, a 10-year-old girl died after a school bus driver struck her at the corner of Crescent Street and Wortman Avenue.

Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted Thursday that the city would work to further increase street safety.

“The NYPD is committed to protecting our schools and making sure every student gets to class safely,” he wrote. “We will be increasing efforts in the coming days to keep our streets safe. Our kids deserve nothing less.”
