Special victims detectives in Brooklyn are looking for the violent man sought for assaulting and attempting to rape a young woman inside an apartment building stairwell early Saturday morning.

Law enforcement sources said the suspect attacked the victim at about 2:42 a.m. on March 27 inside a residential building in the vicinity of Beverly Road and Rogers Avenue in Flatbush.

According to police, the creep followed the 24-year-old woman from the street into the building and through the lobby. Once she got inside the stairwell, cops said, the brute attacked — punching her in the face multiple times, then slamming her head against the staircase.

While on the stairs, cops said, the perpetrator proceeded to sexually assault the woman, causing her to scream and yell. He then bolted from the scene in an unknown direction.

Officers from the 67th Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. The victim was treated at the location for minor injuries, including lacerations and pain.

Police have since released a grainy surveillance camera image of the suspect, described only as a Black man.
