A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to the death of Tessa Majors, an 18-year-old Barnard College student who was stabbed in Manhattan’s Morningside Park, on Wednesday, CNN reported.
The New York Times describes the Harlem resident as 5’5 and reports that the boy’s statement to the police, while not a confession, did implicate him in the crime.
Several outlets have also reported that the boy suggested that there were two friends involved in the robbery and stabbing of Majors.
The boy was allegedly found by officers in the lobby of a building at Manhattan Avenue and 119th Street at 4:20 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers found a knife on the boy after arresting him for trespassing, CBS reports.
The boy has been charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, the New York Times adds. Cops are still searching for the two additional suspects.
Anyone with information on the case can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
