A 60-year-old woman died Wednesday from injuries she suffered after a man on an electric scooter struck her in East Harlem.

Police said Anette Camaya, 60, of First Avenue suffered her fatal injuries on Tuesday afternoon while attempting to cross at the corner of Pleasant Avenue and East 118th Street.

According to law enforcement sources, Camaya was walking eastbound across Pleasant Avenue at 5:49 p.m. on Feb. 18 when a 34-year-old man on a 2019 Wuxi Dongma Z6 scooter traveled southbound along the avenue.

Cops said he hit Camaya, knocking her to the roadway. The scooter operator stopped his vehicle and remained at the scene.

Officers from the 25th Precinct and EMS responded to the incident. Upon arrival, they found Camaya unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to her head and body.

Paramedics rushed her to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem, where she died of her injuries on Feb. 19.

The scooter operator, who suffered minor injuries, was treated at Harlem Hospital and released.

No charges have been filed against him at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
