Detectives in Harlem are investigating the death of a 65-year-old man found lacerated across his chest early on Monday morning.

Officers from the 28th Precinct discovered the victim while responding to a 911 call for an unconscious man in front of an apartment building at 240 West 113th St. at about 4:08 a.m. on April 26.

Police said the victim was unresponsive and had a slash wound across his chest. Responding EMS units pronounced him dead at the scene.

The NYPD has withheld the victim’s identity, pending family notification.

The victim’s body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death. At this point in the ongoing investigation, police sources said, detectives aren’t sure whether the laceration, or some unknown condition, resulted in the man’s demise.

No arrests have been made, law enforcement sources said.
