Detectives in Harlem need the public’s help in finding the gunman who shot two teenagers at an eatery last week, leaving one of them critically injured.
Police released on Sunday night video footage of the suspect responsible for the double-shooting, which occurred at about 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 6 inside a fast food joint at 2158 8th Ave.
According to law enforcement sources, the victims — both male, ages 13 and 16 — were dining at the establishment when the suspect approached them, pulled out a firearm and pulled the trigger multiple times. The gunman then ran out of the establishment and fled the scene.
Officers from the 28th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call, found the 13-year-old boy shot in the head and the 16-year-old boy struck in the back.
EMS rushed the 13-year-old to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. The 16-year-old, meanwhile, was brought to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
The black-and-white security camera footage that the NYPD released shows the suspect attempting to reach inside the hooded sweatshirt he wore for an object, presumably the weapon used in the crime. He also wore a light-colored baseball cap, dark colored pants and black sneakers with white laces.
