Queens man shot to death inside apartment building elevator: NYPD

Detectives in Queens are looking for the shooter who gunned down a 27-year-old man and left him for dead inside an apartment building elevator on Sunday afternoon.

Bassiana Lawrence, 27, of Beach 26th Street was shot about six blocks from his home, inside 331 Beach 32nd St. in Far Rockaway at about 4:36 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Officers from the 101st Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found Lawrence in an elevator located within the high-rise, with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and arms.

EMS rushed him to nearby St. John’s Episcopal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

At this point in the ongoing investigation, police have not yet established a possible motive for the shooting, or a description of the suspect. No arrests have been made, police said.
