Like many non-profits, the Borough of Manhattan Community College is having trouble raising money. “It’s a challenging year,” said Karen Wenderoff, the school’s vice president of college development.
She is hoping to close the gap at a fundraiser honoring Christine Larsen of JPMorgan Chase and Tribeca Film Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal Monday night at Chelsea Piers.
Proceeds go to the school’s scholarship fund, which benefits over 250 students. Many of the school’s 22,000 students are low-income minorities juggling school, work and family responsibilities, Wenderoff said. For more information, call 212-220-8020.
