On the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day, U.S. Representative Carolyn Maloney visited the Lower East Side Tenement Museum on Orchard St. to join museum officials in announcing that $121,250 in federal funds had been allocated for an exhibit the museum plans to open at this time next year, “An Irish Family in America.” Billed as the first exhibit of its kind, the exhibit will focus on the experience of an Irish family in New York City by re-creating an apartment in which they lived.
