Above, parents, teachers and youngsters of Children’s Liberation Day Care center gathered in the playground of 150 First Ave. on June 28 to bid an emotional farewell to each other and to the home they shared for the past 25 years as part of the P.S. 122 Community Center along with three arts groups. Below, Elizabeth Acevedo, president of the Children’s Liberation board of directors, stood in an empty classroom. The city’s Department of Cultural Affairs administers the building, which will undergo a four-year renovation. But it was the Administration for Children’s Services that decided that the city-funded daycare would not return to its space, which will be converted into a theater lobby.
