To help students with their reading program, Gur Tsabar, a candidate for City Council in the Second District, collected 500 books for students at P.S. 63.

Tsabar worked with corporate sponsors and others to get the books — mostly new but some used — for classes from kindergarten to sixth grade at the school on E. Third St. between First Ave. and Avenue A.

The books range from “Harry Potter” to ones by Roald Dahl.
