BY ALEJANDRA O’CONNELL-DOMENECH AND ROBERT POZARYCKI | Cops are looking for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank in Chelsea on Wednesday afternoon.
The NYPD released images of the crook behind the Sept. 25 heist, which occurred at 2:53 p.m. at the Wells Fargo branch located at 777 6th Ave.
According to law enforcement sources, the bandit walked into the bank, approached a teller and slipped a note demanding money. Cops said the crook simulated being armed with a weapon, but did not actually display one.
The teller provided $150 in cash to the suspect, who then fled from the scene, authorities said.
Officers from the 13th Precinct responded to the incident. There were no reported injuries.
Cops described the perpetrator as a black man with a dark complexion in his 50s, standing 6 feet tall and wearing a gray blazer.
