A Diamond District jeweler was shot and seriously wounded Thursday night after what police say was a dispute outside of his ritzy Brooklyn home, police officials said.

The victim, 44, whose name has not been revealed, was shot while standing in the driveway of his home at 50 Whitman Drive, in Mill Basin. He was shot in the custom brick driveway of the two-story white brick provincial style white column house where homes are typically multi-million dollar mini-mansions.

Police say two men were arguing with the victim in the driveway at 8:51 p.m. when one man drew a gun and shot him in the neck. The men then fled in a grey or tan Toyota south on Whitman Drive.

Police from the 63rd Precinct found the victim bleeding on the driveway with family members trying to help. EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, where he is expected to survive, police officials said.

Police sealed off areas around the crime scene searching for evidence and a spent shell found on the driveway. The home also has a security video being reviewed by investigators.

Family members said the victim owns a jewelry business in the West 47th Street Diamond District and may have an interest in a real estate company in the community.

“This is crazy, I saw him laid out, he was bleeding heavy. I hope he makes it. Last thing I would expect here.” said a family close acquaintance.

Shocked residents stared at the busy crime scene, the street taped off by police during the investigation.

“He got shot right in the driveway, I got the alert on Citizen, they were pumping his chest for a while. Then the cops started tying things off,” said one resident who wouldn’t give his name.

“I know the family from walking the dog – they are a wonderful family, a shame that had to happen to him,” said neighbor Dorthy Peters.
